Paula Pauley is the Grant County Sheriff’s Department Victim’s Advocate. Her job is to review each day’s reports of crimes against people. Paula serves as a liaison between the victim and law enforcement officers. She contacts victims either by phone or in person within 24 hours of a report being taken by an investigating officer.

Paula works closely with the Advocate from the Prosecutors office and the Advocate with Marion Police Department. They work together as a team for the victims of Grant County.

Paula’s duties are to:
  • Empower and encourage each victim
  • Offer moral support.
  • Provide information available for support groups, counseling services, legal services and safe shelter services.
  • Assist in obtaining Protective Orders and notifying the victim once those have been served.
  • Attending court hearings with the victim.

Paula is available 24 hours a day 7 days a week. Paula will respond to the scene of the call, hospital or wherever needed at the time.

Paula also serves as the Advocate for the Gas City Police Department, Upland Police Department, Fairmount Police Department, Fowlerton Police Department, Jonesboro Police Department, Sweetser Police Department, Swayzee Police Department, Van Buren Police Department, Converse Police Department and Matthews Police Department.

This program has been with the Sheriff’s Department for 13 years. In those years it has served many victims and has been a great asset to the victims in our community.
